However, it’s essential to be cautious, as higher volume levels can lead to audio distortion and clipping, compromising sound quality. Below are the methods most Windows 10 users found effective. In this tutorial, you have to follow the following steps to know how to record your screen using VLC.The video recorded by it has high quality. Many users use this VLC media plate only to watch videos. Most of the users do not know that VLC record screen. As a VLC record screen, it is considered as one of the best screen recorders for desktop users. One of the most important questions is how to record desktop screens using VLC. It operates in RGB mode and is able to compress 16, 24 or 32 bit RGB bitmaps.CamStudio Lossless Codec is a very fast codec optimized for screen capture applications. Here is a quote from the original Readme of the CamStudio Codec: In addition, it was originally written by a company called Rendersoft a decade ago, so it has a legacy of tight, efficient code that should perform very well even on a P4 system. It is strictly built for Windows screen capturing. I have used this CamStudio Codec and it is astonishing how compact it compresses the videos. I recommend CamStudio, it's free and open source and "CamStudio also comes with its own Lossless Codec that produces crystal clear results with a much smaller filesize compared with other more popular codecs". And because of their target market, the output files are probably rather efficiently compressed as well. As such, it is supposedly rather lightweight. Jing is apparently designed to help tech staff see what users are experiencing and send them video instructions on how to resolve their problems. I have not worked with screen recorders, generally, but a google search of lightweight screen recorders showed a result called Jing, which is apparently written by the folks who brought us Camtasia, which is a popular and capable recording suite. The only reason to use a compressed media type is because uncompressed media formats are just so much larger in size.Īnd a P4 is really, really old by the standards of today's software, especially media software. These trade-offs tend to just about balance each other out. Trying different codecs can also be helpful for speeding up the compression/decompression processes. You really need to just choose the one that gives the best trade-off of size and CPU time and use that. Audio is much smaller and so there are uncompressed audio formats. Uncompressed media formats generally require less real-time CPU processing, but they also take up a much larger amount of disk space, memory, and other resources and so can be just as hard on a computer as compressed media.ĭue to the enourmous size of uncompressed media, there really aren't any uncompressed video formats. Compression of a real-time screen requires a lot of CPU time right as the video is being taken. The screen can be rotated 270 degrees so the monitor faces the guests, and it’s a touch screen. Lenovo’s line of Yoga and Flex computers offer an interesting choice. With a 21” touch-screen and its own battery it is almost perfect. It’s either a tablet on steroids, or a big lap top with detachable keyboard, or an all-in-one that’s more suitable for a photo booth than most. Sony makes a computer called the Tap 21 (not “tab” but “tap”) that’s a great unit. Windows RT and Android operating systems are not suitable. Very important: Unless your tablet uses a full Windows 7 or 8 operating system you won’t be able to use commercial photo booth software. They’re light, reasonably priced, have touch screens. Tablet computers seem ideal in many respects at first glance. If anything at all goes wrong you have to remove and possibly replace the entire unit. However, because they are big and heavy, you’re putting all your eggs into one basket. They are not suitable for photo booths because our software of choice won’t run on them, and they are completely dependent upon a reliable internet connection.Īn all in one computer with touch screen fits the bill well, in that all the components are built into one big piece. The Chromebook is a Google creation designed to use cloud-based software. Either is up to the task of running a photo booth, but avoid ones with less RAM than 4 GB. Most netbooks have an Atom processor, which is not as powerful as others and can slow down operations. The distinction between netbooks and ultrabooks is usually the speed of the processor and the price tag. Because they don’t have optical drives (CD or DVD drives) they are lighter than full lap tops and often have much longer battery lives. They have a screen that’s about 10-11 inches. Netbooks and Ultrabooks are much smaller than most lap tops. Since they all have batteries, they’ll carry you through short power outages without having to reboot when the power comes back on. My personal preference: small laptops with decent processors, 4 GB of RAM or more, at least 3 USB ports and a VGA or HDMI output for a second monitor. Hook this up to an HDMI touch screen monitor – yes, they exist – and you’d have a great combination for a photo booth. They’ve got lots of ports: 2x USB 3.0, 4x USB 2.0, HDMI, 6-in-1 card reader. They’re only 6.1″ x 7.6″ x 0.87″ – about the size of a paper back book. I have never used one but really want to give it a try. The disadvantage of most desktops is that they’re relatively big and heavy.Īnother option is the Lenovo Q190, touted as the world’s smallest desktop. Sometimes venues don’t have reliable power. Since they use AC power, if there is a momentary interruption in power the computer has to reboot. Mac computers generally cost a lot more.ĭesktop computers can be used. Breeze Systems makes Mac software to operate the Canon DSLR cameras but no others. PC war isn’t over, but if you want to use Mac you’re very limited in your choice of cameras and software. If you become a photo booth professional you’ll want to have back-up units that are identical or similar to your primary computer, so in the event of a failure at an event you can immediately swap it out. While you may conduct your experiments with a computer you already own, eventually you’ll need computers dedicated only to booth operation. For their chore charts, we use this chore chart printable from The Incremental Mama. I even used a little dry erase marker to add in some times so he would have an idea of when different tasks started, that way he’s not asking “is it time for lunch?” 100 times a day. Here’s how our schedules looked, with my 4 year old’s schedule being the first one you see. While ours are hanging on the refrigerator, a clipboard is also a great idea, especially one with storage to store the extra task cards that aren’t being used that day. I recommend using adhesive dots, or even “velcro” dots to attach your tasks. Once you have your schedule all laminated, you are ready to add your cards to your schedule and make your routine. It took me a while to cut out the cards but I just think that the durability you get from laminating it is so worth it. To create your laminated schedule, you’ll need a printer with ink, printer paper, and a laminator and laminating pouches. Plus, there are also blank cards to create your own options. I feel like everything is included here- from basic self-care tasks for kids to sports practices, pet care, and more. Then, I went through these activity cards carefully making sure there were plenty of options and duplicates of the ones needed, like brushing teeth, snack time, etc… The download comes with two schedule options- a single page that has morning, afternoon, and night, or separate schedule pages for morning/afternoon/night. This is perfect for toddlers, preschoolers, and even my school age son loves it. I used glue dots to put ours together, but I’d highly recommend velcro, so that each day you can adjust the schedule as needed. To make this daily planner for your kids, just sign up for my email list to download the free printable, then you can print out the schedule pages, and the cards, laminate, and have your own daily schedule that will withstand some rough kiddos. How to make a visual daily planner for kids. Also, if you are looking for a more traditional planner for older kids, be sure to check out my review on the Erin Condren Kids planner. It has pictures to accompany the tasks, so this works even for kids who aren’t reading age, yet. This visual daily planner for kids is such a great idea, and you can put it on the side of the refrigerator, or on a clipboard, so that your child can reference it whenever they need. I did this before, to an extent, but now that my youngest is almost 5, it is working so well to have them a schedule to look at. One thing that has saved my sanity more so than ever during this COVID “quarantine” with my kids being at home has been getting them into a routine and on a schedule. So, for example, the = and != combinations are rendered as proper equality glyphs, which are supposedly easier for the brain to process than two separate characters that have their own individual meanings. The code variant of Fira includes programming ligatures – special renderings of certain character combinations that are designed to make code easier to read and understand. Many UK schools have adopted this proposed scheme.Fira Code is a font with coding ligatures designed for Mozilla (Image credit: Mozilla)įira Code is an extension of Fira Mono, a monospaced font designed for Mozilla to fit in with the character of Firefox OS. These fonts serve the purposes of schools which retain traditional methods but most UK schools have autonomy in this area and some have adopted the style set out in the book: 'A Hand for Spelling' (by Charles Cripps) which is the basis for a scheme of work for early learning in UK schools. This font is also recommended by groups concerned with helping dyslexic students.Ĭlick on Licensing to see prices or navigate down the page to see some samples. This is the only font I have ever bought and I have never regretted it. I found one such font, Sassoon Sans, a commercial font costing about £15. Such a font would be of the kind used in typesetting for books etc. In addition to the hand-written font it is advantageous to have a parallel font to bridge the gap between empirical learning and literature. I know it is easy, using FCP, to modify a few glyphs in quite a number of fonts to obtain what is required but, as I said elswhere, I do not want to infringe End User Licence Agreements or Copyright restrictions. To a child that could be misconstrued as an upside-down 'e'. It is no use having a 'double-decker' character 'a' if the scheme dictates a 'single-decker' 'a'.
That's all I remember but always wanted to read the other books by this author - whoever she is. The bride and the sister are sitting in deck chairs behind the husband and his friend and the bride observes her sister just gazing adoringly at the back of the guy's head. She falls in love on the cruise with a friend/maybe coworker of the groom. One of the bride's younger sisters is also on the ship relocating to Australia - either to work or live with another relative. Once married, they take a honeymoon cruise to Australia where the husband has taken a job for a year or so. One of the married sisters is wealthy and arranged it but never pays for anything. Before the wedding, the sisters and their mother go to some ritzy restaurant for tea but discover they have almost no money but the mother deals with the head waiter with honesty and class. I remember that she and her mother rode the Tube under the Thames - which she found very exciting and her mother found terrifying. The story is told from the perspective of the sister who is getting married to an engineer and she is embarrassed to be thinking to herself that he has rescued her from a crazy life with her family. I believe it was one of a series and this one was about one of four English sisters and very funny. Please help with the title of this book! I read it back in the 1980s but it was set in 1950s or 1960s England - gloves & hats. That's all the details I can remember, but I would LOVE if someone has read this and could tell me what the title is!! In contemporary times, h tries using hypnosis to go back in the past and save H, but H (contemporary) ends up channeling the angry war General and no longer acts like himself. She keeps having these visions, and the H in the other times was an officer in the military during the war, and the h was always on the opposite side. The h&H get married and h begins having visions of them from the revolutionary war and the civil war their souls have been in love across time but was always doomed. She gets offended but decides to take him up on his offer to pose for a painting. The H is an artist who meets the h at a restaurant one night, and tells her he bets she has dimples on her ass. It begins in contemporary time (although I think this book was published in the 80's or 90's). I've been looking for a book I read years ago and thought someone may be able to help. I really wish there was some sort of database where you could search keyword plot lines to books and find titles! It would make this so much easier! (I seem to run across that book everytime I try to search for this book!) I really hope someone can help! I know it's not a Harlequin, I also know it's not The Black Lyon book. :) Seems like they're really poor/all of their supplies are gone. I think I remember the h has been running the castle by herself for a while now-though I may be getting that from another book. In fact no one at the castle is happy about the H's presence I remember the h is not happy about her upcoming marriage to the H-so maybe he won the castle in a siege, etc. She is really young-14 or so** This was a big part of the storyline The h has 2 sisters**the youngest of whom is raped (by the H's men (?))-I do know one of his men takes her and cares for her/nurses her back to health. (dark hair, etc) "Black" may even be in the title of the book The H wears a lot of black, and it seems like he's dark as well. :) I've been looking for this book for SO long! I don't remember much about it, but here's what I do know: □ Crystallized natural mineral salts are pure and natural, killing odor-causing bacteria.
